The votes are in and the signs are up as the new secondary street names are unveiled on Downtown Drumheller streets.

The Town of Drumheller has taken the initiative to add secondary street names to many of the streets in the downtown core. The names of note are Tyrannosaurus Drive (Riverside Drive), Albertosaurus Street (2nd Street East Highway 9), Centrosaurus Street (Centre Street) just to name a few.

"(The area)were talking about would be 5th Street East to 4th Street West and north to south Railway Avenue to Riverside Drive" stated Paul Salvatore, Director of Community Services for the Town of Drumheller.

The naming of the streets were done with the results of a survey of residents in June. Paul remarked "There are some (names) that are a little bit long and we tried to make it easy to pronounce, however there are a few tricky ones out there."

They unveilled the new signs on Tuesday afternoon. Some of the new street signs are up and Town employees will continue to be working on placing them around the downtown core.
