People living with diabetes or those living with victims of the disease may want to take Tuesday, February 28 off.
"We will be offering a diabetes education session," outlined Erica Laycock, chronic condition client health educator with Alberta Health Services. "It starts at 9:30 (a.m.) and runs until 3:30 (p.m.) here at the Drumheller Hospital."
"Anyone that has pre-diabetes, Type 2 diabetes or any support people that are interested in learning a little bit more about diabetes are invited to attend the free Alberta Health Services information session," she advised.
Along with general information on diabetes, Laycock said a number of topics will be discussed.
"Foods that affect their blood sugar, blood glucose monitoring, medications, what to do during an illness, looking at physical activity and the importance of foot care."
