The cold weather this week is keeping local towing companies busy with calls.
"We've done 30 AMA calls in two days and another 30 calls just non AMA," reported Shelley Morgan of Newcastle Towing. "Everything from boosting, air in tires and tows because they (vehicles) are just not starting."
Down the road at Gangster Towing, calls have been coming in for the same reasons over the past two days.
"Probably about half a dozen," estimated Ralph Reule.
Back at Newcastle towing, Morgan said they've had two drivers working around the clock to meet the demand.
"It starts at 6:00 in the morning and most of the calls are done by about 10:00 at night and then you get into semi's and stuff that are traveling through the night, but most of the passenger cars and small trucks are done by 10:00," stated Morgan.
She stresses the importance of proper and regular maintenance on vehicles and to always plug it in during the cold weather.
"Lots of the boosts are because they don't have it plugged in," concluded Morgan.
