With December being Impaired Driving Enforcement Month, the Alberta RCMP announced they have plans for a check stop blitz on Saturday, December 3. 
This check stop blitz will be taking place in local detachment areas and on major roadways across Alberta. 
Drivers that are suspected of being impaired by alcohol and/or drugs will be subject to road side sobriety tests that may result in immediate license suspensions or criminal charges. 
To date in 2016, the Alberta RCMP and Alberta Sheriff personnel have issued more than 1,600 roadside license suspensions for impaired driving. 
These check stops will run throughout Saturday and into Sunday morning. Some check stop will be mobile and moving locations in order to cover as much of the province as possible.
