The deadline is coming up fast to nominate someone for the Drumheller Rotary Club's annual Awards of Excellence.
The final day for nominations is this Wednesday, March 15.
"We've received a few nominations for each of the categories: the citizen of the year, the most courteous and the male and female athletes," related club member Jim Fisher. "It's looking quite good, but we always look for more nominations."
Citizen of the year goes to someone who has devoted much of their life to volunteering, particularly in the Drumheller Valley. The most courteous employee speaks for itself, while the male and female athletes can be of any age in any sport.
"We urge the public and need the public input because this is something for the entire community," argued Fisher. "The best way to make it work is for everyone to put on their thinking caps and decide which one they would like to nominate."
"The awards will be on April 8: the evening will be a gala event for the Celebration of Excellence," noted Fisher. "Tickets are on sale already at SJ Fashions: last year we had a sellout and we're looking for the same thing this year."
