The dancers of the Tricia Hatch School of Dance have been busy performing in Drumheller and around the area.

In mid-March, the group had the opportunity to participate in the Drumheller Music Festival. All of the dancers did very well and some were able to win awards.

"At the Drum Music Festival, some of the more notable awards would be Tori James. She was awarded the Adjudicator's Choice of the one student through the whole weekend that was awarded for excellence in dance," remarked Tricia Hatch

"Drew Hatch was also picked out from the adjudicator as the student that would most benefit from further training, kind of showing the most promise, again picked out of all of the students from the whole weekend."

Hatch explains some of the characteristics that her students develop due to being part of dance. "Confidence and self-awareness and all of those skills of being in a team. Teamwork and unity and being able to support someone."

The dance group also competed at the Sparkle Festival in Stettler from March 22-24 with great results. The dancers are eager to dance in their next competition, which takes place in Camrose at the 'Dance to the Future Festival' this weekend.
