The students at Greentree School were graced by country music star, Ryan Laird.

Laird performed some songs for the kids and talked about bullying, but also wanted to empower them to chase their dreams and goals in life.

"They were a really great group. They were very interactive throughout the show with all the clapping and there were some awesome guests who came up to talk about their dreams and goals in their lives. I even had some pretty cool air guitar players up on stage," Laird expressed.

When Ryan Laird first graduated, he had his goal set of becoming a country artist. Although when he first arrived in Nashville, Laird realized he had to make a unique and bold statement to kick start his career.

"I moved down to Nashville and found out pretty quick, coming from a small town in Ontario, that it's pretty competitive in Nashville. You need to do something a little unique and different," he noted.

"I tried to motivate the kids to think outside the box and not be afraid to stand out from the pack by doing something unique like I did by putting out the billboard to Taylor Swift in Nashville."

This is the second time that Ryan Laird has performed in a Drumheller school, and he hopes it won't be the last.

"I did get a tour of the Royal Tyrrell Museum which was amazing and I definitely want to come back to play more shows here. It was really good to meet the kids and if there is any other schools in the area that interested in a program like this coming in, we're at biggerthanthat.org on the Internet, so they can check us out."
