Competition is stiff between Drumheller and Port Alberni, British Columbia in Canada's Most Rider Friendly Contest.
"I've been watching the action and one minute Drumheller is up 130 votes and the next time you go look Port Alberni is up 80 and it's just back and forth like a yoyo," chuckled contest organizer Renee Charbonneau, also known as Belt Drive Betty.
The three Western Canadian finalists are Drumheller, Port Alberni and Nisku. Cape Breton island has been selected as the Eastern winner. Voting is open until midnight Thursday night (March 30) with the Western Canada winner being announced in one week, April 6.
"We do a full audit on all of the votes that come in to ensure that there are no bots or anything like that in voting and, of course, it takes time to craft the press release and create the video announcement," explained Charbonneau.
Voting for the final round of Canada's Most Rider Friendly Community will end on April 27 and the winning community will be announced on May 4.
"That's going to prove absolutely interesting. I'm anticipating another absolute slug fest," smiled Charbonneau.
