Residents may notice construction crews over the next few weeks in Drumheller's industrial park.

The Drumheller Co-op will be upgrading their cardlock centre located along South Dinosaur Trail.

"The bulk plant is actually getting decommisioned and we're hauling all of our fuel out of central locations and we are going to be upgrading our cardlock," explained Drumheller Co-op GM Brent Walker.

He says the cardlock will have seven different pumps for quicker access and new, more environmentally friendly tanks will also be installed.

Crews are expected to be onsite this week and will start the renovation project next week. It's estimated to take eight weeks to complete.

Users of the cardlock are reminded that it will be closed while work is being done. Walker adds gas cards will still work after the upgrades.
