A local artist is giving back to food banks all over the country.
Jaydee Bixby has teamed up with the local Salvation Army Food Bank to bring some food to their shelves.
"This stretch from January into the spring is also a very difficult time for people who are struggling. It's a time where we see demand go up a bit; it's been steady. People are coming for help and we want to be there to support them any way we can," Captain Jennifer Hillier of the Drumheller Salvation Army explained.
Bixby will be playing at the Newcastle Hotel on April 15: tickets to get in are $15 or $10 with a food donation. The band will also be accepting monetary donations throughout the night.
"My family did the classic country stuff. I grew up playing it and loving it. This is kind of a way to pay homage to my roots and do a good deed all at once," Bixby said.
He will be joined on the stage by Gordon Arnold and Ronnie Hawkins for this tour.
