The Town of Drumheller has a new vision for the valley moving forward. They asked the community to submit photos in a contest to illustrate the statement. 'To be the cleanest, friendliest, most sought after community in Alberta.'

Brian Rideout and Tracey Dalton won the photo contest, with the top prize awarded to Rideout.

"It was a really wonderful process because we had people that worked at Town-Hall, Public Works and different parts of the town involved in the committee that chose the winning picture," explained Mayor Heather Colberg. "They presented the winning pictures to council so it was really neat."

"The one that won, the one that's going with the vision, is very green and has a pathway that is kind of, leading the way into the future," Colberg outlined. "It's just a welcoming way and that's what we want in the valley., people to feel very warm and welcome here."

She added the number of entries really gave the judges a lot to work with.

"It was really inspiring to have so many people submit their photos. We had over 100 people take the time to submit their photos," Colberg recognized. "There's just so many incredible pictures that are taken around the valley. This new council, we want to get the community more involved in everything that we are doing."
