Bassano RCMP have laid a total of 28 Criminal Code charges between the three offenders apprehended in the incident of last Tuesday, July 17.

Authorities were alerted early Tuesday morning at 4:30 am at a business in Hussar after suspects stole an ATM, before responding to a call of an attempted theft from a rural property north of Bassano.

The victim had followed the suspects who fled in a vehicle, but stopped after one of the suspects leaned out the window of the vehicle and pointed a gun at the victim.

RCMP were finally able to arrest the suspects after a pursuit through the rural Bassano area led to the suspects’ vehicle being stuck in a farmer’s field.

The charged persons are:
Hailey Katelyn Morrison, 24 yrs old of Drumheller, Alberta
Shawn Donald Panteluk, 33 yrs old of Gleichen, Alberta
Brett Voytko, 24 yrs old of Lethbridge, Alberta
Charges range from Break & Enter and Theft over $5000.00, Possession of Stolen Property over $5000.00, Dangerous Driving, Flight from Police and weapons charges.

All 3 offenders were on Court imposed conditions from other crimes with which they had been involved. The trio have made preliminary Court appearances in Medicine Hat Provincial Court and remain in custody.

They are scheduled to re-appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court in the coming weeks.
