On Monday, February 11, 2019, at 12:30 PM the Hanna RCMP, Hanna and Special Areas Fire Department and Hanna EMS responded to a semi tractor-trailer rollover on Highway 36 north of Township Road 340. The semi tractor-trailer was hauling cattle at the time of the rollover.

"There was a bend in the road when he was headed southbound. He came around the corner and hit a patch of ice or snow which caused him to lose control of the semi," explained Constable Braden Marlow. "The semi then went into the westbound ditch and then ended up on the passenger side with the trailer and truck on its side."

The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was later released from the hospital. There was 42 head of cattle on the trailer and only 2 were euthanized at the scene by the RCMP.

"The Hanna Fire Department did a great job with the livestock trailer. They have a special unit that comes out that has fencing," concluded Marlow.
