Damning testimony on Thursday at the trial of a Castor man accused of helping to murder his parents and sister.
Court heard from the RCMP officer in charge of a sting operation to get Jason Klaus to admit to the murders of Gordon and Sandra and their daughter, Monica Klaus at their farm outside of Castor in December, 2013.
Klaus admitted to an undercover officer that he planned the murders, but insisted that co-accused Joshua Frank was the triggerman. The allegations were echoed by Frank's statement to police, although that confession was thrown out of court because interrogators had not allowed him a bathroom break while he was being questioned.
The latest evidence was also part of a voire dire, or trial within a trial, where the judge will have to rule whether it was given freely and is admissible in court.
Klaus and Frank each face three charges of first degree murder.
