UPDATE: Walter Ansell has been located near the area where RCMP found his vehicle. Ansell was transported to the local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There is no indication of foul play currently, but Ansell's investigation is ongoing. The RCMP would like to extend their gratitude for the assistance of the public in helping find Walter Ansell.

RCMP in Saskatchewan have issued a public appeal as they look for a Carbon man who went missing in the area on the weekend.

Walter Ansell left his home in Carbon last Friday, November 4 to visit a family member on a farm near Kindersley. He was last seen around 5:00 that afternoon about two kilometers away from his intended destination by a person he stopped to ask for directions.

When last spotted, Ansell was seen traveling in the wrong direction, northbound on Highway 317 towards Primate, Saskatchewan.

He's described as 5'7" tall with a medium build, grey hair, balding on top, a bushy mustache and glasses. The 75 year old has a medical condition requiring medication but it is unknown if he had his medication with him.

On Sunday evening Ansell's vehicle, with his dog inside, was located about 30 kilometers west of the Alberta-Saskatchewan border.

Oyen RCMP, Alberta Police Dog Services and Alberta Air Rescue are on scene and actively searching for him.

The public is asked to contact the Kindersley RCMP at (306) 463-4642 or their local police force should they have any information concerning the location of Walter Ansell.
