Camp BCF was able to check off a ParticipACTION 150 item off of their list.

They visited the communtiy garden and Munchie Park for a field trip on August 15 to gain some gardening experience.

"Tomatoes, pumpkins and cucumbers," said Meleah Laycock when asked about the vegetables they were growing.

"When we went there, we split up into some groups and tasted some of the vegetables," added Danica Treller.

During their visit they were able to pick some flowers for a craft activity later during the day.

"We picked flowers and took them back," explained Nulie Lenz. "We gardened and looked at the flowers around Munchie Park."

"This was just to get them involved with some volunteer work and just to get the kids to experience a green thumb," noted Makenna Lutz, an instructor with Camp BCF. "They were planting some lettuce and kale in the gardens."

Munchie Park is located on South Dinosaur Trail in Bankview.
