Another busy tourist season is just about finished at the World's Largest Dinosaur and Drumheller Visitor Information Center.

Debbie Schinnour, Drumheller's Tourism Services Manager, said the season got off to a bit of a slow start this year.

"We were down five per cent in July and our visitor's center was down two per cent. But, our August is absolutely wonderful and September, so far, has been great."

Schinnour explained that tourist numbers in August more than made up for a disappointing July.

"We're up ten per cent over last year's numbers on the climb to the dinosaur and five per cent in the VIC (visitor information center)."

"I always find August is better than July. Other people think July should be busier, but I always think August is better," she admitted.

Although the main summer tourist season is over, people are still visiting the valley, said Schinnour.
