There was a towering sight looming over Harper's Tire parking lot on Thursday, August 2.
The Bronto Skylift F 116RLP+ from Fort Gary Fire Trucks made their way to the valley to demo their newest sky high vehicle.
"We have got a couple guys out from Fort Gary Fire Trucks and they are just in the neighborhood and decided to pull into Drumheller and show us a demo of their new aerial trucks," explained Drumheller Deputy Fire Chief Duane Bolin.
"The Town of Drumheller is in the market for replacing the aerial truck we have in service right now which is over 35 years old. When you are investing this much money it is good to get all the options out there and see what is going to work best for the valley," continued Bolin.
This newer and upgraded model features many new options that would be useful when fighting fires.
"It reaches 116 feet. The one we have right now 103 (feet). It does have a lot of bells and whistles on because it is the demo model. Definitely can be used for not only just high angle rescue or firefighting but actually even working in the hills. You can use it for assisting to lift people out of the coulee or something like that as well," concluded Bolin.
