RCMP are investigating after a burning car with a body inside was found near Morrin on Monday.
Police were called around 8:00 Monday morning to a farmer's field just south of the village.
Fire crews extinguished the flames and that's when human remains were discovered.
The case has been turned over to the RCMP's Major Crimes Unit with assistance from the Drumheller Detachment.
A police statement says the last known registered owner of the vehicle has been located and has been spoken to by police. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Drumheller RCMP at 403-823-7590 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
