It was a great two weeks for a group of local teens as they participated in the annual Two Wheel View Badlands to Banff bike trip.
It was the third straight year that Drumheller's Andrew Germain took part in the event that sees kids get together with adult chaperones for an adventure that includes cycling, camping out and other fun events along the way.
"It's really the personalities that change from year to year. The bike trip is always so much fun to do, but it's a set course so you kind of know what's coming," he told 99.5 Drum FM. "With the personalities of all the different people I never really know what's going to be coming. This year we had a whole bunch of fun individuals: it was quite a blast."
The trip leaders were also new this year, so Germain and Spencer Mammel had to step up to help keep everyone on track.
"Every year I've gained more and more leadership skills through the bike trip and it's really a great time," stated Andrew. "Even if it's your first time you become more of a leader than you were before."
Badlands to Banff is just one of several trips that the Two Wheel View organization operates and Germain is thinking of branching out next year.
"As much as I'd love to do it (Banff) I kind of want to go out with a bang next year, so I'm probably going to go do the (Montreal to) Quebec trip," he confessed. "It's my last eligible year to do any Two Wheel View trip, so I'm probably going to do the Quebec trip."
