The Atlas Coal Mine is about to reach a huge milestone.

They are expecting their 500,000th visitor on Sunday, June 18.

"I'm not sure whether the original board members would have ever thought we would get to this point," said Sarah Newstead, executive director at the Atlas Coal Mine. "Although, when the Atlas Historical Society first formed they were very keen on seeing those numbers come into the site so it is just an amazing milestone."

"As long as things go right we will have our 500,000th visitor come in on the 18th and we are going to offer them an exclusive tour with Bob Moffat, our retired miner guide," explained Newstead.
