The Beiseker RCMP have caught two individuals involved in a theft from last month.

While working closely with Cochrane RCMP, the Beiseker Detachment was able to charge two individuals involved in a vehicle theft from a residence on July 22.

"23-year-old Brandon Unrau and 23-year-old Tyler Hodgins, both from Cochrane are charged with the following," continued Sergeant Norman Mercier, RCMP Detachment Commander  for Beiseker. "Theft of motor vehicle over $5000, possession of stolen property over $5000, dangerous driving and criminal flight from police. Brandon Unrau stands charged alone for assault with a Weapon and assault causing bodily harm."

The Beiseker RCMP, along with the Cochrane Detachment, worked hand in had to catch the criminals.

"They got caught, just because we're able, as RCMP, to utilize resources from other detachments and other specailized units that we have," Sergeant Mercier said. "In this case, these individuals are from Cochrane. We were able to utilize, mostly, RCMP resources for this one."

Both criminals are to appear in court on August 7, 2018. Tyler Hodgins in Calgary and Brandon Unrau in Cochrane.

"We linked this to a crime spree that happened in Beiseker on the 22nd of July and that investigation is still ongoing," concluded Sergeant Mercier.

The Beiseker RCMP want to acknowledge the assistance from other RCMP detachments and the specialized units that lead to these two criminals arrests with no further risk to the public.
