Yesterday, a two-vehicle collision resulted in five people being rushed to Calgary hospitals.

At approximately 2:35PM yesterday, August 8, a gravel truck traveling eastbound on highway 9 collided with a car traveling westbound as the truck entered into the oncoming lane.

The 55 year old male gravel truck driver was taken by ambulance to a Calgary hospital.

The car, holding four people, seen a 46 year old male and eight year old male taken by STARS helicopter to Calgary hospitals. The 43 year old female driver and 11 year old male passenger was taken by ambulance to a Calgary hospital.

The condition of the two males transported by STARS is not yet stated. The remaining three collision victims have minor injuries.

Traffic remains re-routed at this time and a further update will be provided by Beiseker RCMP when the road is re-opened.
