The Atlas Coal Mine has been searching hard for a new Executive Director, and they've found one.

"I did my PHD at the University of Leicester (England). I've been living there since 2010 and I stayed on after my PHD to be a teaching fellow at the University of Leicester until the people at the Atlas Coal Mine poached me from the university and I moved half way across the world," stated Dr. Sarah Newstead, Executive Director of the Atlas Coal Mine.

Dr. Newstead has taken over the position as of May 1, 2017.

"We did a national recruiting campaign and we sought out the very best and brightest minds not only in Canada, but in the world," said Jay Russell, Curator of the Atlas.

"They actually put together a fantastic recruitment website for their executive director that was really engaging and much better than lots I've seen. I just thought that I'd give these guys a chance," concluded Dr. Newstead.

Newstead replaces Julia Fielding, who left her job with the coal mine to become the Economic Development and Communications officer at Town Hall in Drumheller.

Good luck with the new position, Sarah!
