There will be some happy animals over at the Drumheller and District Humane Society thanks to ice cream, burgers and french fries.

Julian Chalmers and Asteroid Restaurant in Rosedale donated ten per cent of their proceeds from the weekend to the Humane Society, plus much more.

"He gave us his tips and he matched the tips for us. He ended up raising $1,008 for us, so that is absolutely amazing. It was very little work on our part which we appreciate," thanked Megan Shearer, President of the Drumheller and District Humane Society.

"Julian has helped us out a lot in the past. He helped us out with a cat who had a broken leg last year. He has always been there for the Drumheller Humane Society," continued Shearer.

Shearer says most of the money will be used towards kitty litter and vet bills.

She adds that since it is kitten season, the society is in need of some kitten formula as well.

Asteroid and The Humane Society have decided to keep a good thing going and will continue with the fundraiser next year.

"This year and the years to come, we have decided we are going to pick a weekend in July or August and he is going to donate ten per cent of his costs for that weekend," announced Shearer.
