One of Drumheller's newest professional corporations officially opened its doors on Monday, January 8.
Dignitaries, including Battle River-Crowfoot MP Kevin Sorenson, Drumheller-Stettler MLA Rick Strankman and Drumheller Mayor Heather Colberg, helped to cut the ribbon for an open house at Ascend Financial.
"We're actuallty very pleased to see this many people come out," enthused co-owner Trevor Gough. "It was nice to see Kevin Sorenson and Rick Strankman come out and join us for the ribbon cutting, along with Heather Colberg. Wonderful to see this many people out here."
"It was such a short notice because we were waiting to hear back from Kevin and other people," recalled his business partner, Alok Verma. "Last week, we got to know what day works for all of them and to put everything together, it was great."
The merger between Gough's Ascend Financial and Alok Verma Professional Corporation was announced in October, 2017 and became official with the new year. So, how do they plan to celebrate?
"We are right into tax season, (but) we are up for it," replied Verma. "No more sleep for us," laughed Gough.
