Did you test drive a vehicle to help raise funds for the Drumheller Valley Secondary School and Greentree School?

A cheque was presented by Western GM yesterday, June 20 to Greentree School for $8,740 from the Buick Test Drive for your school event.

"It's great to support the community like this. Greentree is a fantastic school, this playground is amazing and they've done such a great job. We're excited to be part of that," stated Western GM Sales Manager, Brad LeDrew. buick cheque 2

This cheque donation from Buick Canada and Western GM puts the total almost to the final goal of $350,000.

"That money did get us to the point where we can put in new and now we are about $20,000 away from being able to fix the current pour-in-place," outlined Greentree School Principal, Erin Campbell-Bentley.

"It would be a wonderful opportunity to be able to do this all at once versus having to find the man power two summers in a row or blocking off for the kids when we do our fall fundraiser. Right now, there is a bunch of advertising out there and if anyone is willing and able, we'd love to get to that $20,000."

So, when will the renovations take place?

"We don't have an exact date, but end of July is when things will arrive (and) when we have lots of people coming to help. We need to do a lot of digging and cleaning, then we get to put the fun stuff in," Campbell-Bentley noted.
