The indoor pool at the Drumheller Aquaplex is officially closed for the summer.

The water has been drained and the steam room has been removed.

"There's a lot of prep to do with the outdoor pool like cleaning, painting and having all the equipment moved from the indoor pool to be usable outside," stated Andrea Leavitt with the Aquaplex.

Although the indoor pool won't be open, visitors and Drumheller residents can still use the outdoor pool once it will be open.

The women can still change into their swimsuits in the same change room, but men cannot.

"There will be a trailer for the men's change room for now until we have access back to the men's change room," Leavitt explained.

Leavitt added that the staff of the Drumheller Aquaplex are excited to see the finalized product, even though they're hearing a bit of a different sound coming from the pool.

"It's a different noise, it's not quiet, but it's just a different type of noise."

The Drumheller Aquaplex will announce at a later date when the outdoor pool will be open to the public.
