Update: Ashely Fredrickson appeared briefly in court, where she was granted time to hire legal counsel. Her new trial date is June 16, 2017.
A Drumheller woman is scheduled to go on trial today for her part in the alleged theft of money from a local charity fund.
Ashley Fredrickson was arrested last July and charged with theft under $5,000 after RCMP were informed that a "substantial" amount of money was missing from a fund set up for Brandon Hall, who is fighting cancer in his lungs.
She pleaded not guilty at the first opportunity in August.
A number of fundraising events held in the last year raised $20,000 for the Hall family to handle expenses such as trips to the US for Brandon for treatment.
