On Wednesday afternoon fire departments from Rumsey, Morrin and Drumheller were dispatched to a scene where a semi truck ran off the road and into a slough three kilometres from the Rowley turnoff on Highway 56.

From all accounts, the driver has been taken to hospital by ambulance.   Emergency vehicles remain on the scene as they prepare to tow the vehicle out of the area.  Highway 56 is reduced to one lane of alternating traffic at the scene.

Take caution in the area especially when passing emergency vehicles.  We will update the situation when more information becomes available.
