The Drumheller Stampede grounds are home to RV owners for the next four days.
The Good Sam's Club RV rally hosts 165 recreational vehicles bringing over 320 club members to the valley.
The RVs, or rigs as members call them, line the Stampede Grounds as Sam Club members from all over Canada and the United States gather in the badlands to congregate and enjoy the travelling lifestyle.
Sam Frame, Provincial Director for the Alberta Sam Club, is the voice who represents the 18 different chapters of RV members across Alberta.
"They'll start at about 8:30-9 o'clock (in the morning)," Frame said about the daily itinerary for the next four days. "They will go until about 10 o'clock each night. There is entertainment every evening. We've (also) got a scavenger hunt going on in the valley on Saturday."
The chapters got together at the Stampede Grounds Wednesday, June 13 as Drumheller became their stop for this year's Alberta RV Rally.
"We move it around from corner to corner of the province. It just happened to be central Alberta's turn," explained Frame. "We had been here a few years back and all of the history steeped in this valley is a pretty special spot in the province."
The economic boost an RV club like this brings to the valley is estimated to be upwards of $35,000. The members of the rally are also fundraising by internal means for charitable causes.
"A donation of food will actually go to the Salvation Army. We will be getting in contact with them and giving that all to them," outlined Frame. "We are doing certain things in here (the Stampede Barn) to raise funds for charity. This year, our charity of choice is STARS."
Frame noted STARS Air Ambulance is a very important means of emergency health care, especially for RV enthusiasts who may come into a situation where they might need to be air lifted in an emergency.
The RV rally will be at the Stampede Grounds until Sunday, June 17.
