Sports enthusiasts, art lovers and those looking for something to do, all flocked to the Badlands Community Facility on Wednesday for the 5th Annual Spring Expo.

According to Badlands Community Faculty Marketing and Sales Officer, Erica Crocker, it was another successful year.seacadetsDrumheller Sea Cadets

"Our Spring Expo is always a bit smaller than our Fall Expo, however this year's Spring Sports, Recreation and Arts Expo did see more attendance in vendors and community member coming to the event. We saw a good increase in attendance and participation so we are very excited about that."

This year provided even more for little ones to do while parents looked through the vendor tables.

"We have recently purchased so inflatable bouncy houses. So we set them up so the kids would have something to do, we typically have done colouring stations and live demonstrations in the past, but we figured we would roll these guys out and get them all blown up. The kids absolutely loved them, so I have no doubt that will be included in our Fall Expo," continued Crocker.

The main purpose of the event is to give families and individuals the opportunity to see what Drumheller has to offer. The event is especially beneficial for newcomers of the valley who want to become involved in the community.

"I definitely think it is important. It is a wonderful one-stop shop for families to get involved in different recreation activities, whether that be arts, sports league, or whatever. I think it is a fantastic element that we can provide and we always get positive feedback.

The next expo will be held later this year in September.
