We can all agree that tourism plays a huge role in Drumheller and all throughout the Canadian Badlands.

"Things in the Canadian Badlands are good, they're quite good. We're wrapping up projects for 2016 and planning projects for 2017. Right now we've got a list of about 21 and we need to pair that down a little bit, but (we're) busy as usual," explained Lonna Hogan with Canadian Badlands.

The seventh Annual Tourism Development Conference and the Annual General Meeting for 2017 are planned for March 15 to the 17 in Brooks.

"We're pretty excited about it because this year we've got a good lineup of guest speakers. We've got Jon Montgomery, who is a Canadian Olympian and the host of The Amazing Race Canada," outlined Hogan.

Some other guest speakers will include a team from The Amazing Race Canada, Doug Griffiths, Mark Sutherland and Tom Jackson.

"We've got a good lineup and, of course, we're going to have some breakout sessions as well. It's going to be a full conference again in 2017."

Hogan added the Canadian Badlands has a list of projects coming up for 2017.

"One of them involves a whole bunch of small concerts and because it's not an approved board list yet, we can't really disclose a lot of that. They're going to be spread out across the Canadian Badlands," mentioned Hogan.
