The DVSS Junior A Dynos volleyball team can call themselves champions for the next year.

The squad made up of junior high school aged girls competed at South Central Zones at St. Joseph's Collegiate in Brooks last weekend.

Drumheller faced Christ the King (25-20, 25-19), Hugh Sutherland (25-11, 25-6) and Westmount School (25-18, 25-20) during pool play, where they went undefeated.

They then played Christ the King again in the semi finals where they won 25-20 and 25-18.

In the Zone final, the girls played Wesmount School again, where they lost their first set of the tournament 25-10. However, the girls rallied to beat Westmount 25-19 in the second set and took the third and deciding set by a score of 15-11 to claim the banner.
The Junior A Dynos were in Three Hills Tuesday night for league finals, which they lost in a three set heartbreaker (5-22, 25-27 and 17-19) to finish second in the league and wrap their season.
The Senior Dynos compete at Zones this coming weekend at Strathcona Tweedsmuir School in Okotoks.
