Your Drumheller Dragons played their third game in four days. Each game down the stretch has playoff implications for Drumheller and the teams they are facing.
Sunday was no exception. The Dragons traveled to Canmore to take on the Eagles. The last time the Dragons traveled to play Canmore, it was an epic comeback with five unanswered goals for an overtime win. Something very similar would happen on Sunday.

Drumheller came out strong to start the first but could not put the puck in the back of the net. The Eagles would be the first on the board when Connor Lyons got a puck in the slot that he made no mistake at 5:15. The Dragons would out shoot Canmore 10-7 but the period would end with the Eagles leading 1-0.

The Dragons had a power-play that carried over into the second period and 47 seconds in, Brady Risk would score his 23rd of the year from Derrick Budz and Bradley Stonnell to tie the game at 1-1. Canmore would regain the lead when Mark Drohan had an opportunity to wind up and shoot in the slot just under 30 seconds later. Canmore would make it 3-1 when Owen Reith scored at 12:45. Cue the comeback. The Dragons would get a power-play with a tripping minor to Taden Rattie. Off the faceoff, Bradley Stonnell would score his 4th on the season from Brayden Nicholetts and Derrick Budz only 5 seconds into the man advantage. The Dragons would tie it on a strange goal to say the least. Canmore defenseman Daly Hamilton was trying to send the puck across the zone but it struck the back of the skate of Eagles goalie, Logan Dyck, and ended up in the net. Alex Rotundo would get credit for the goal, his 4th of the season. The period would end tied at 3-3.

Drumheller came out in the third with determination. Scout Truman would get a breakaway on the left side and would go top shelf at 5:08 to give the Dragons the 4-3 lead. Stonnell would get the assist on the goal. Another strange goal from hard work would give the Dragons a 5-3 lead. Brayden Nicholetts was behind the net and tried to send it to the slot. The puck would go off the leg of Logan Dyck and in the back of the net. Nicholetts with his 12th of the year at 7:07. Exactly 6 minutes later, Shane Ott would fire one towards the net and it would go off a Canmore defender and in the goal. Ott with his 12th from Derrick Budz and Bradley Stonnell. Derrick Budz would end the scoring with 2:31 left with his 19th of the year from Hassan Akl
