The Dragons started their three game road trip tonight in Fort McMurray.  It is always tough to play in Fort Mac and tonight was no different.

Drumheller has not had much luck at the Casman Centre.  They wanted to change that tonight.  Drumheller opened up the scoring at the 7:01 mark of the first when Markus Boguslavsky scored his eighth of the season on a great shot from the slot.  A beautiful set up from Scout Truman and Roc Truman.  Both teams would have their chances but the period would end with the Dragons leading 1-0.

In the second, the defensive battle between these two teams continued.  It was quite a physical game with hits everywhere.  Earlier in the game, Dawson Bruneski was given a game misconduct after a check from behind penalty.  Kiano Robinson was the recipient of a big check along the boards where it looked like his head may have hit the edge of the glass near the Fort McMurray bench.  With that two of the Dragons defensemen were out of the game,  The Oil Barons tied the game on the power play when Garrett Johnson took a blow to the head penalty with the accompanying 10 minute misconduct.  Oil Barons top scorer, Reed Morison, scored from a nice set up by Ryan Conroy.  1-1 after two periods.

The third period was a goaltender showcase with both goalies making stellar saves.  The game would need overtime.

In OT, Drumheller had a couple of amazing opportunities but could not seal the deal.  Both teams again had their chances but could not score.  The game would need a shoot out.  Drumheller shooters Markus Boguslavsky, Roc Truman, and Shane Ott scored on Ft. McMurray goalie Josh Dias.  The first shooter for the Oil Barons was former Dragon, Tyson Scott, and he did not score.  The second shooter for Ft. Mac was Reed Morison and he just got the puck through Daniel Allin. The Oil Barons did not get to shoot their third shooter and with that, Drumheller got the win.  A big win to kick off the three game road trip.
