The Drumheller Dragons took to the ice tonight to clash with the Lloydminster Bobcats.  It is the first of two meetings between these two foes.

With that being said, it is always difficult to determine what type of game it will be.   It was quite a spirited one, to say the least.  These two teams do not like each other.  The Bobcats come out strong to start the game and took the lead at 1:23 when Hunter Lamb scored.  Lloydminster added to their lead just over six minutes later when Tucker Scantlebury scored to make it 2-0 Bobcats.  It was like a switch was flipped as the Dragons came back with a vengeance.  Scout Truman scored his second on the year with the assist to his brother Roc, to make it 2-1 Lloydminster.  Just over a minute later, Brett Edwards scored his tenth of the season from Jordan Taupert to tie the game at two.  With 6:45 left in the period, Roc Truman scored his eleventh of the season from Markus Boguslavsky and Dylan Wenzel.  It was a rough period as there were a few big checks for both teams.  Drumheller lead 3-2 after one.

In the second, the Dragons made it 4-2 when Brett Edwards got his second of the game from Aiden Yakimchuk and Jordan Taupert.  Lloyd made it a one-goal game at 8:04 when Rylan Nivon scored.  Before the end of the period, the Dragons had a five on three power play opportunity.  Bret Edwards capitalized, just after the first penalty expired, with his hat-trick goal from Jordan Taupert and Dawson Bruneski.  The Dragons lead 5-3 going into the third period.

Just as the third began, it was announced in the arena that Jordan Taupert, with his three points in the game, is now the points leader in Dragons history.  Jordan seemed to be inspired by that as he would score the next two goals on breakaways.  It would be Taupert's eleventh and twelfth of the season with assists to Aiden Yakimchuk and Adam Heindel.  Lloydminster would get one back with 2:21 left when Logan Bromhead scored his first of the season.  The final score would be Drumheller 7 and Lloydminster 4.

For being a north versus south game, it was a very physical game.  It should set up for a great one in Lloydminster in early December.  A big win at home in front of 807 fans.
