The Dragons had a rare afternoon matchup on Sunday.  They met up with the Grande Prairie Storm who were finishing up their south division road trip.

The Dragons were looking to get back at the Storm from their previous loss in Grande Prairie.  Drumheller was coming off a win on the road on Friday in Olds, Grande Prairie lost their two previous games.  Grande Prairie forward, Jared  Power, seems to love playing the Dragons as he always has a strong game.  Today was no exception.

Grande Prairie would open the scoring when Jared Power scored from the slot on a nice set up by Nathan Fox.  That seemed to take the momentum early in the game.  The Dragons would even the score on the power play when Brady Risk scored his thirteenth of the year from Jordan Taupert and Eric Martin.  The period would end tied 1-1.  The Dragons outshooting the Storm 17-13.

In the second, Grande Prairie would retake the lead when Jared Power would score his second of the game in similar fashion to his first goal at 6:37.  The Dragons would equalize once again, only 24 seconds later as Markus Boguslavsky scored his seventh of the season, unassisted.  With 4:55 left, the Storm again would retake the lead as Zachary Cunningham scored to make 3-2 after two periods.

Grande Prairie would increase their lead early in the third when Zach Webb scored from Jared Power to make it 4-2 Storm.  Drumheller had their chances to get back in the game with power-play opportunities.  They did make it close when on a 5 on 3 man advantage.  Eric Martin got his first of the year from Markus Boguslavksy and Jordan Taupert to make it 4-3.  The Dragons would pull Hunter Virostek with just over two minutes left in the game.  The could not score so the final would end up 4-3 in favour of the Storm.
