The hottest team in the Drumheller Valley right now isn't the AJHL Dragons, it's the Bantam football Titans.
The team made mostly of Grade 8 and 9 players blitzed Lindsay Thurber School from Red Deer 44-0 on Saturday, October 7 at DVSS Field.
"I've been with the organization for eight years now (and) I've never beaten Lindsay Thurber," revealed Titans coach Lachie McFadden. "I cannot be prouder of the boys; they did well."
"(It was) a windy day or our passing game would have been there as well," he added. "We just would have dominated (and) probably would have got another two touchdowns on them as well."
The Bantam Titans are back at DVSS Field this weekend playing an exhibition game against Stettler.
"One of our games at the beginning of the year, Olds forfeited their season, so this was supposed to be our bye week," explained McFadden. "It was Stettler's bye week as well, and they had the same problem with Olds, so we said okay, let's play each other."
Saturday's game is a 2:30 p.m. kickoff, following the Tim Horton's Peewee Terrapins and Red Deer Hornets, who play at 11:00 a.m.
The Terrapins are coming off a 6-6 tie with the Red Deer Steelers last weekend. The Senior Titans whipped Olds 41-6. They visit Calgary this Friday night to face Forest Lawn High School.
