A young lacrosse player from the Valley took his skills to the Rockyview Predators, a travelling team, and the season ended on a high note.

"The season was pretty tough. We ended up finishing third in the league," stated Kristian Patterson.

Previously, Patterson played lacrosse in Strathmore and this was the first year he played for the travelling team.

"It's the first time this team has ever actually played in the season, it was a brand new team. We had three tryouts with about 50 kids trying out from all across Southern Alberta like Airdrie, Strathmore, Calgary (and) Drumheller," outlined Patterson.

So, what was the best part of playing on this brand new team?

"Best part was just the experience (and) meeting new people. It's probably been one of the best teams I've played for, it's difficult and challenging," Patterson expressed.

"I'd like to encourage anyone who wants to get in the sport that it's probably, in my opinion, it's the best sport you could play as long as you are okay with the physical aspect and the dedication."
