Who's ready to compete in the Dinosaur Trail Triathlon?
This year's race takes place Saturday, June 10 and will see competitors from all over Alberta.
"We've had them come from Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, Calgary, Red Deer, Three Hills, and from Drumheller of course," stated event organizer, Morgan Syvertsen.
For those who are unsure what the Dinosaur Trail Triathlon entails, it is comprised of three different events.
"You start with a swim, climb out of the water and do a bike ride and they jump off the bike and do a run. The first one to finish is the winner obviously," Syvertsen explained.
"We offer two different distances. The shortest distance is called a sprint; you do a 750 metre swim, a 20 kilometre bike ride and a 5 kilometre run. The Olympic distance is a 1500 meter swim, 40 kilometre bike ride and a 10 metre run, so exactly double."
"We're going to be doing the swim at the outdoor pool at the Aquaplex, the ride goes along North Dinosaur Trail past the museum and the run follows our beautiful running trail through Midland," outlined Syvertsen.
