The first weekend fo the stock car racing season went off without too much trouble at Dinosaur Downs Speedway.
The 3/8 mile dirt racetrack on Drumheller's South Hill hosted IMCA hobby stocks, modified and late model modified race cars on Saturday and Sunday, May 13-14. 
Saturday saw eight stock cars, three late models and 15 modified cars race in front of an excited crowd. 
The stock car results provided by Jason Blanke from Saturday were:
Heat 1 - #22 Scott Shaw

Main Event: 1st - #21 Michael Reneau
                    2nd - #19 Kyle Orriss
                     3rd - #22 Scott Shaw
The modified results from Saturday were:

It rained Saturday night, which made the track a little muddy, but it wasn't enough to keep the cars off the race track the next day.

Sunday's races saw seven stock cars, two late model modifieds and 14 modified cars take the track.
