This is a huge weekend for the future aspirations of four high school football players from the Drumheller Valley.

Noah Miles, Liam McDougald, Mike Peterson and Ewan McFadden have been invited to the camp for the South Team that will play in the 2017 Alberta Senior Bowl.

Noah Miles told 99.5 Drum FM they'll get right to work on Friday afternoon.

"The first hour is just general sign-up and stuff, some stats -- high jump and long jump -- and then we go straight into pads and equipment and full contact," he outlined. "Saturday, two hours of practice, a seminar about if we're going to go play past high school and then another two hours of practice. Sunday we go for a two hour scrimmage."

"We're the 150 best players in (Southern) Alberta that are trying out for this, so it's an honour to be selected to go and try out," he added.

The North Team was selected last weekend as they trimmed the roster to 41 players.

Miles, who has been a running back with the Senior Titans, hopes it will help him get a position with the University of Alberta Golden Bears in the fall.

"I'm really looking forward to it: it's exciting and I've been missing the gridiron for a few months now, so it'll be nice to just go back out there and play the game we love."

This year's Senior Bowl for Grade 12 graduating players will be played on May 22 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary.
