A few weeks ago, it was announced by the Prime Minister that the Government of Canada would be zeroing out the consumer carbon tax as of April 1st.
There was hope that this would mean instant savings at the gas pump. This is not an April Fool’s joke, gas prices in Drumheller have dropped as of Tuesday morning (April 1st). There are a number of gas stations in town that have dropped their price from 142.9 on Monday to 125.9 as of Tuesday morning. This includes Westview Co-op along Highway 10 in Drumheller. Westview Co-op is the same price as the self-serve stations but offers full service at the pump.
As far as the gas price apps on phones, the price change has not been reflected as of 11 AM on Tuesday but a number of stations should be updating soon.
