Annually, Stingray Radio in Drumheller, boom 99.5 and New Country 92.5, select an outdoor rink to host Hockey Day In Drumheller.
This year the outdoor rink in Rosedale was the destination on February, 2oth. Nearly one hundred people stopped in, including the Drumheller Dragons players, to play hockey on the rink during the kids February break. As part of the event, fundraising takes place for the venue, which for 2025 was the Rosedale Recreational Society and their hall. A number of items were donated for a silent auction with the proceeds going to Rosedale Rec Society. The totals are in and over $1,300 was raised for the hall. Ron Pedersen, Vice President of the Rosedale Rec Society shares that these funds will help with their ongoing renovations. “We’ve got some ongoing renovation projects that we are in the middle of. Next stage is probably our kitchen, which is getting to be quite old. This won’t do it by itself, but it will sure help.”

The Rosedale Recreational Society and the Rosedale Hall is the glue helping to keep the Rosedale community alive and well according to Pedersen. “We’ve got a really loyal community and we like to host events (at the hall), and get as many in as we can.”
