An opportunity is coming up later this month for those businesses in search of new employees and for those seeking a new career or job.
Travel Drumheller, along with the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce are presenting the Drumheller Job Fair on March 22. Heather Little with Travel Drumheller shares that there is still opportunities for employers to register for the event. “Employers are still welcome to email me to register. You can email me at heather@traveldrumheller.com. There is a registration fee, it’s $100, but we do have a promo code if you are either a Chamber member or a Travel Drumheller partner.”
This event is a stepping stone for businesses looking for seasonal employees but also full time long term job seekers. “With summer employment, we know that Drumheller doubles its population in the summer with all the visitors that come to town, but also any other industry outside of that. It’s not just for those seasonal employees.”
The event at the Badlands Community Facility is broken into to different sessions explains Little. “From 10 to 1, is in in-person session. People can come down to the BCF, meet with employers, hand out their resumes, and make some great connections. From 1 to 5 PM, is the virtual event. If you register online through the link, you can meet with employers virtually. If you live out of town, or you physically can’t make it to the event that day, this still gives you the opportunity to participate.”
The Drumheller & District Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with Travel Drumheller for this event according to Heather Bitz, Executive Director with the Chamber. “The Drumheller & District Chamber of Commerce has received $10,000 in provincial funding to support a Hire by Referral initiative in the community. The Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Travel Drumheller to amplify the existing Job Fair with a new virtual component. This provincial funding is geared towards strengthening local economies, promoting local employment opportunities, and enabling small businesses to remain competitive and prosperous in an ever-changing economic landscape.”
