Farmers in our area work hard to keep the family farm going and successful. MNP is looking to help those farming families thrive with their new series of events providing different strategies focusing on the agricultural industry.
They have Farm Forward: Strategies For Thriving In Agriculture session planned for Strathmore in early December to provide farmers tools to keep their farms in optimal operation. Travis Kuschminder, Regional Marketing Manager with MNP shares that it is the perfect time to meet with farmers preparing for their 2025 growing season. “We are really focusing on our ag producers in the area. We want to sit down with them and get them thinking about what’s next in the upcoming spring season, that’s a few months away.” The session that will be happening in Strathmore is completely free for any to attend.
Some farm families are working towards passing down the farm from generation to generation and Kuschminder notes that is something that MNP is seeing and can help facilitate. “We definitely do see that conversation come up about transitioning. ‘What are we going to do with our farm operation, passing it on to the next generation, and how do we do that?’ The great thing about MNP, is that we do have business advisors who specialize in that area. Locally, Jeff Hall in our Drumheller office, he works with a lot of clients right now on their transition plans. It is a process and it takes a lot of time, a lot of things to think about. I’ve been to a number of these presentations and they plant the seed.” The presentations are not just about transitioning but they will share tools, insurance programs, latest tax updates to make your operation more profitable.
As many know, the Federal and Provincial governments make tax adjustments all the time. Kuschminder advises that MNP is here to help. “Our tax specialists, they have their pulse on what’s happening, the very latest information right across the firm, so they’re happy to pass that information down to our ag producers. We are going to bring along some farm management consultants who will talk about support programs, dive into the commodity markets, land values, and other trends that they’re seeing. We’ve got team members who handle bookkeeping and cloud accounting. No matter what moving part of your operation, we’ve got a business advisor that can definitely guide you, provide advice, and make sure you’re making the right choices for the future.”
MNP is there not only for ag businesses, but small or large business operations, and personal services too.
Unfortunately due to numbers, the event in Strathmore has had to be cancelled. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
