Your Dragons had a light schedule over the Thanksgiving Long Weekend, with only one game.
Friday night Drumheller welcomed the Camrose Kodiaks for the first time in the regular season. Drumheller was coming into the game with two wins last weekend, in Whitecourt and Drayton Valley. The Kodiaks were coming off two losses, one to Olds and one to Calgary. Drumheller was looking to keep their winning streak alive.
The Dragons would get off on the right foot early in the first period when Allen Sherpa scored his second goal of the season from Lauchlan Kozicky and Luca Dufour. Drumheller would outshoot Camrose 10-4 in the period and would lead 1-0 after one.
In the second, both teams would have opportunities but both Camrose goaltender Carter Capton and Drumheller goaltender Sean Cootes would stop everything they faced to keep the score 1-0 Dragons after two periods.
The Dragons would increase their lead 5:18 into the third period with Josh Diegel scoring his fourth of the season, from Allen Sherpa, making it 2-0. Late in the third, Allen Sherpa would run into Camrose goaltender Carter Capton and receive a five minute major penalty for goaltender interference. Capton would leave the game and backup Noah Caballero would come in, in relief. On the ensuing penalty kill, former Camrose forward, now Dragons forward, Bradley Gallo (8) would score, unassisted and short-handed, giving Drumheller the 3-0 lead. Camrose were unable to answer as Dragons goaltender Sean Cootes would stop all 23 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season.
