This morning, Thursday, September 26th, a major grocery store in Drumheller opened their doors officially to the public.
In a ceremony held early on Thursday, the official ribbon was cut to open Nicholas’ No Frills. The conversion of the former Extra Foods store has taken a few months to complete but has now opened as a No Frills location. Nick and Megan Linterman are the new owners of the store and share that customers will see many differences, especially the prices. Nick comments that the suppliers will remain the same but pricing will be different. “Same buyers but just different contracts with people which will see lower prices and better selection as well.”
No Frills is still associated with Loblaws which means they continue to accept and provide PC Optimum points. “Everything stays the same with PC Optimum points,” shares Nick. “(Customers are) still able to redeem and collect points here.” If you are not yet a PC Optimum card holder, they have cards available at the store, or you can sign up online.
The hours of the store will remain the same, open daily from 8 AM to 9 PM, with the Pharmacy open 10 AM to 6 PM. The store is a bit different in that it may not provide all the extra services but Nick shares there are other benefits. “We don’t do the extra things but it helps to keep the prices lower. We are still having some of the fresh bakery, not the whole selection but some.”
The store has transformed to a new cleaner, welcoming, and professional look. “The store is cleaner, better laid out, and easier to navigate,” admits Nick. The new No Frills location is now open.
